Police arrest suspect in relation to stabbing incident early this morning

Police have arrested an adult male suspect in relation to a stabbing incident in the early hours of today 30 September 2017 at Mbokonavera one area in Honiara which resulted in the death of an adult male. The alleged suspect surrendered himself to Hon. Jimmy Lusibaea, Member of Parliament for North Malaita Constituency before police arrested him. The suspect is now currently in police custody awaiting further investigations. Police are in the process of obtaining permission for the medical examination of the deceased. Man dies following stabbing incident, RSIPF launch investigation

Police is investigating a stabbing incident in the early hours of this morning at Mbokonavera One area in Central Honiara which led to the death of a male person. Currently police investigators at the scene and are collecting possible information that could lead to the death the person. The deceased is currently at the National Referral Hospital morgue while investigations still continue in to the stubbing incident. SIG scholarships close, many rush to beat deadline

Hundreds of Solomon Islanders rushed to submit their applications today as the deadline for SIG Scholarship Applications closed this afternoon. Permanent Secretary (Ag) of the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development James Bosamata confirmed that the applications have closed today. “Yes applications have closed today,” he said.
